The DOTCHAI was officially incorporated in the Province of Manitoba on February 28, 1981 as a non-profit housing authority to serve the housing need of the First Nation population. Since its incorporation, DOTCHAI now has the distinct recognition of being the largest urban aboriginal residential property manager.

Dakota Ojibway First Nations Housing Authority Inc. - Family Housing Dakota Ojibway First Nations Housing Authority Incorporated was created on October 20, 2005 and the membership consists of eight First Nation communities that belong to the Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council. Its mandate is to provide affordable housing to aboriginal families. There are efforts to accept all segments of the aboriginal popualtion which include students, seniors, and disability. There are 218 housing units within the City of Winnipeg. Dial-A-Life Housing Dial-A-Life started a Housing Board of Directors in 1988. After consulting with health care professionals, aboriginal renal failure patients and families, the group decided on transitional housing which assists families in adjusting to urban living, starting market housing and protection from slumlords. Kanata Housing Corporation Kanata Housing Corporation provides non-profit ental housing specifically geared to families of Native Canadian Heritage. Kanata with the financial assistance of C.H.M.C. has developed a portfolio of 89 homes in and around the City of Winniprg. There are 89 family homes of two, three, and four bedroom layouts. All units are ground oriented the majority of which are single family detached with the minority comprising of side by sides and townhouses. These homes are rent-geared-to-income. Keewatin Tribal Council - Keewatin Housing Association Inc. Kekinan Centre Inc. Senior Housing (Managed by SAM (Management) Inc. KeKiNan is an apartment building specifically for seniors who are Aboriginal. Each unit is a one bedroom apartment and comes equipped with a fridge and stove. Rent includes heat and water and each unit is connected to an in-house emergency response system. Kinew Housing Inc. Kinew Housing is a non-profit housing organization that has been providing decent affordable housing to low income Aboriginal families in the City of Winnipeg since 1970. Rents are geared to income for those homes that are subsidized and low end market rents have been established for the homes without subsidy. Manitoba Housing Renewal Corporation Manitoba Métis Federation Manitoba Urban Native Housing Association Inc. Minister of Housing and Community Development Native Women Transitions Centre Inc. The Native Women Transitions Centre offers a long-term residential facility, were care and support are provided for up to 21 Aboriginal women and their children who are struggling to make life changes and escape domestic violence. Payuk Housing Co-op is a unique housing concept. Members collectively make decisions on the management of their property. Their mission is "to provide a safe, supportive Co-operative living environment for Aboriginal families. Payuk is for Aboriginal families who wish to live in a drug, alcohol and violence free environment." Portage La Prairie Friendship Centre Housing Inc. The centre began operation in 1966 as Indian and Metis Friendship Centre and became incorporated in in 1968 where the name was changed to Portage La Prairie Friendship Centre. The Centre provides subsidized housing for the low income Aboriginal families in the city of Portage La Prairie.
